That's right, we invented the terminal block 75 years ago. And now u-software is revolutionising Industrial IoT and Automation.
Whether from the IIoT, automation or a combination of both, these exemplary use cases have one thing in common: the software is usually the centrepiece.
In addition to a best-in-class hardware portfolio, consisting for example of I/O systems and controllers, Weidmüller offers an open, modular and integrated software portfolio: u-software. This consists of three parts: the ‘u-OS’ edge platform, the ‘easyConnect’ cloud platform and comprehensive application software that builds on each other.
u-OS is Weidmüller's open operating system and provides a platform for software services on edge devices. It combines the possibilities of Automation and Industrial IoT on a single device and is suitable for edge computing solutions. u-OS enables efficient data pre-processing and precise control directly at the machine. The result is the perfect combination of the u-remote I/O system, the modular, scalable M3000/4000 controller, the open u-OS operating system and Codesys, the leading manufacturer-independent IEC 61131-3 automation software for configuring control systems.
easyConnect is a cloud-based (carrier) platform for various industrial services, including in the field of Industrial IoT & Automation, e.g. remote maintenance or rollout management. It bundles all these services in one place. This enables the best possible handling of products throughout all life cycle phases and paves the way to Industrial IoT and Automation.
Products such as the resource and energy management software ResMa®, the WEB HMI and SCADA solution PROCON-WEB, the data acquisition tool PROCON-Connect or the automated machine learning tool Industrial AutoML are the third pillar of the software portfolio. The Weidmüller application software can be seamlessly integrated into both easyConnect and the u-OS operating system. This means that modular, flexible and web-based end-to-end Industrial IoT and Automation solutions can be realised.
